"The lady taught us so much about recycling and fit it into only two days I learned so much more about recycling and the many other ways to help our community and our planet. CamelliaNet has tons of titles, music, and more you can download the books to your iPod, or to a CD to listen to while gone a trip. The library has many titles already purchased for you to download free. They also have many sections at the library; you can find something for all ages!

Fishing, Planting, and Learning, Oh My!
Once the students arrived at the State Park, they rotated through a variety of different activities they included fishing, planting sea oats on the beach, learning about the different fish that live near us, experiencing what turtles do when they hatch; they also did an animal hunt, and walked on the Gulf State Pier!

She is a funny person! She makes me laugh all the time! She is one of the funniest people that I have ever met in my lifetime! Brygette is sweet and kind to everyone that she knows!"

Mr. Tim Akins (8th grade science teacher) has had chemistry students from Gulf Shores High School (GSHS) come to Gulf Shores Middle School and work with students in his science classes.

"Joseph is a great friend and always makes me laugh. He's so loveable and I can depend on him for anything."

Generous Gestures
Items that fall under this category are items for the library, such as new research computers, new reference books, and new books and A.R. tests. Items for the science classes include: new lab equipment and technology, and for Mrs. Ralston, a new plastic skeleton model. Literature needs include more classroom books and audio players to listen to books on tape, like the three books that have already been read in Mrs. Tuggle's class.

Tasty Treats
Jesse Newsome placed 1st for her Chocolate Italian Cream Cake. 2nd place went to Katie Jones for her Chocolate Lovers Cheese Cake. There was a close 3 way tie for 3rd place. The winners were Brianna Myers, Julia Mewbourn, and Tiffany Graves. Haley Frichter received Honorable Mention.

Aiming for a One!
"The District Assessment is a great opportunity for the 7th graders to see how much they've learned in the two years they have been in band. This will provide an opportunity for them to see what they have to look forward to in upcoming years."

"I think that the number one mistake that all students make at Gulf Shores Middle School is that they don't stay on topic or subject and we need to work on that!"

Many bright students representing their classes battled it out, but in the end it was Bailey Smith, 8th grade, who was victorious.

Mr. Fountain's Vision
My vision for this school is to create an environment for learning, where my students want to come to school and not like they have to come to school. [A place] where they know that their teachers and administrators care for them. We are trying to prepare the students for life. If I can affect at least one student's life in a positive way, I will feel I have done my job."
