Retiring Old Glory
When the United States flag becomes worn, torn, faded or badly soiled, it is proper to replace it with a new flag, and the old flag should be "retired" with all the honor and respect befitting our nation's flag.

Being Pumped Up About Science!
The experiments were "How to put out a Candle without Blowing It", "Liquid Nitrogen and Balloons", and "Anatomy of a Fetal Pig".

Cowboys and Cowgirls of GSMS!
The students were able to choose from many names of cowboys and cowgirls, such as Polker Alice, Bell Starr, and Billy the Kid!

Dolphin Street Festival
This year's Dolphin Street Festival will be held on Sat., March 15. It will be located at the Bodenhamer Soccer Fields in Gulf Shores from 10:00a.m. to 4:00p.m.

Throughout the ride, the expressions on the students' faces was magnificent.

Next we went to Fire Station One where they met Paramedics and Firemen and were told things that were required and what you did while working here.

Prescription Drug Abuse
Whether they get it from their friends or their parent's medicine cabinet. 2.7 million youth aged 12 to 17 abused prescription drugs.

Engineering in South Alabama
One of the stations demonstrated how workloads are released by using pulleys or the affect of waves on land or beaches.

GSMS Band Scores High
The high school band (with some of the 8th grade band) earned the best score of 1-1-1.

Sewing it up
Ms. Michelle Carpenter's 7 th and 8th grade Family and Consumer Science (F.A.C.S) classes have started sewing lessons. The seventh grade has started making body pillows.

BAT-MANIA (Bike-A-Thon-Mania)
Over the past six years, GSMS 7th grade math teacher, Roger Reetz, has used the Bike-a-thon as a way to raise money to implement a wide variety of technology in his classroom.
