The Gulf Shores Middle School Peer Helpers welcomed their new students Friday, August 26 with a luncheon to honor them. The students were treated to lunch and goodie bags with information about the community.

We Are The Champions!
Gulf Shores Middle School's (GSMS) 8th grade girl's basketball team has won the County Championship.

The New Face of Literature!
Gulf Shores Middle School would like to welcome Mrs. Stacy Moore, who has joined our staff to finish out the year as an 8th literature teacher.

Planes, Bridges and T.S.A
To test the bridge the judges put weights on them until they could not hold anymore. In the planes section they were tested to see how long they could fly. The planes and the bridges were both built out of wood and had to be sturdy.

The first place winner was seventh grader, Hank Griffin for his Strawberry Chocolate Pie.

There were a number activities for the students to participate in having to do with nature and outdoor experiences

Honor the Band
It is when students from GSMS and other schools, get the chance to get some help with a scholarship at one of the colleges that has Honor Band.

A Christmas Surprise
"It's great because I get to help kids in Haiti get a Christmas. I am making a shoe box for a boy and I'm putting some books, hot wheels, and a note."

Vapur Water Bottles
Some people have even called it the anti-bottle. They have been selling them at the school and this past weekend they were sold at Lulu's Restaurant, in Gulf Shores.

"I believe that this program is going to go great because, it wastes less food and it also helps the zoo so they won't have to spend more money on produce, and I know the zoo and the animals will be very thankful!"

Football is Here, Let’s Cheer
“Our team is very competitive and this year we have good kids who listen and play hard. If these kids keep listening they will achieve their dream. Our team is good competition and it gets the 8th graders ready for 5A football at the high school.”

Sentimental Objects
This project was a success, and many students were excited to get the chance to share their sentimental stories.

The library is a nice quiet place to read or do homework.

"The lady taught us so much about recycling and fit it into only two days I learned so much more about recycling and the many other ways to help our community and our planet. I believe that we could all help out in the littlest things we do every day. I'm glad and proud to say I was able to help our school with all the projects we have done in Mr. Tuggle's class. "
