"Middle school students inspire me to be a better teacher."

The New Face of Language Arts

With the 2009-2010 school year beginning, 7th graders aren't the only new people at Gulf Shores Middle School.  Ms. Celeste Gill is the new 7th and 8th grade English teacher. Ms. Gill previously taught at Foley Middle School for four years, as a Literature teacher. The reason behind her transferring is her love for teaching middle school and 6th was moved to Foley Elementary. Ms. Gill states, "Middle school students inspire me to be a better teacher."  She attended the University of Alabama and went to law school, then she began teaching as a 6th grade substitute. Ms. Gill attends Gulf Shores Church of Christ and when she isn't teaching middle school students, she enjoys swimming

Ms. Gill was hired during the summer after long time GSMS teacher Ms. Carole Myers retired. Cade Boyd, GSMS 7th grader, also one of Ms. Gill's students said, "Ms. Gill is a great teacher. Right now she is going over the discipline plan with us and is making every single one of the rules clear, simple, and easy. She makes sure that our shirts get tucked in if they aren't too."

Megan Metz, GSMS 7th grader, also one of Ms. Gill's students said, "Ms. Gill is a really good teacher, so far. I like the way she connects with us and the way she teaches really works for my learning style. She is really nice and kind of awesome, so far. I really like her! I think we will have a great school year with her as a teacher!"
