"Harleigh is one of my best friends, she is really outgoing and never backs down from anyone even if that person is really huge and wants to fight. But she is a great friend anyway!"
Focus on Harleigh
This week the Gulf Shores Middle School (GSMS) focus student is 7th grader Miss Harleigh Wilson . Carolina Braga, GSMS 7th grader and also Harleigh's friend said, "Harleigh is one of my best friends, she is really outgoing and never backs down from anyone even if that person is really huge and wants to fight. But she is a great friend anyway!"
Harleigh has lived here in Gulf Shores for her whole life. She lives with her parents and three little brothers, who she said she loves very much even if they get annoying. With her dad being the captain of the charter boat, called "The Riptide", she has been fishing since she could walk, and she has learned to love it. "I guess fishing is in my blood, I've been doing it for as long as I can remember with my daddy." said Harleigh.
Harleigh participates in a great variety of sports, including basketball, softball, volleyball, tennis and soccer. She has been playing all of these sports for her whole life with the exception of tennis, which she just started playing about a year ago. She said, "I love playing sports because they help me stay active and healthy, the best part of playing sports is the thrill of making a basket or hitting a really fast pitch." Jessica Metz, a 7th grade student at GSMSsaid, "Harleigh is great at sports! She can play any sport she wants and she is good at it, even if it's the first time she has done it."
When Harleigh grows up she either wants to be a doctor or a dentist. She can't decide which one because they both make a lot of money and she thinks that they both are great career moves, even though college is still about five years away.
